“I was surfing the web when I came across this quote that made me stop and think. I read it out loud, “live what you love.” Then, I read it again, this time very slowly, “live what you love.”” This quote reminded me of an adage my dad would recite to us when we were growing up. “If you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

Growing up, I could be found giving my Barbie’s hair a trim … or even pinning my brother down for a perm! Even at a young age, I had so much energy and passion for the beauty industry and knew that I had found my true calling. And with my dad’s encouragement, I knew I had to pursue it!

Over the years, my passion for the industry has grown. Every day, I’m surrounded by the most creative, knowledgeable and fashionable people I know—which renews my love for what I do.

Knowing that the average professional spends more than half of their life at work, I really encourage everyone I encounter to find their passion and pursue it! Not only will you be happier in life, you’ll feel more productive at work!

Today, take the time to ask yourself, “Are you living what you love?”
